About Beardslee

Kristen has been a lifelong resident of Fairfield County and is honored to join the Coastal OB/GYN family.  She obtained her BSN at New York University in 2006 and began her career in women’s health as a RN at Stamford Hospital, first in the NICU and then in the Labor and Delivery unit.  While working as a nurse at Stamford Hospital Kristen furthered her studies at NYU and graduated with a MSN in Women’s Health and Midwifery in 2009.  Since becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife Kristen has worked at busy practices taking care of women in the office and doing deliveries both in Connecticut and New York City.  She is excited to be back in Stamford where she initially started her career in Women’s Health.  Kristen feels strongly about providing holistic and comprehensive care to her patients.  She believes in empowering patients and creating a shared-decision model of health care.  Kristen herself has had a hospital birth with an epidural and also a birth center delivery without an epidural.  She feels both experiences were equally wonderful and this is because she had a provider who listened to her and whom she trusted.  Her own healthcare experiences have only exemplified why Kristen believes the patient-provider relationship is of utmost importance.
