About Dr. Gennaro

As a Board-Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Dr. Gennaro has spent his medical career caring for women and their families. He has brought thousands—yes, thousands—of healthy babies into the arms of their joyful families. He has guided, cared for and counseled women through every life stage. Many of the babies he ushered into the world are now his obstetrical and gynecological patients. After graduating with a biology degree from St. John’s University, Queens, New York, Dr. Gennaro declined acceptance to the New York University College of Dentistry. Instead, he opted to attend medical school in Tampico, Mexico at the Univerisdad del Noreste. He subsequently completed an internship year at the State University of New York, Nassau County Medical Center in Long Island and went on to complete his four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Brooklyn Hospital Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. He completed his Gynecology Oncology rotation at Kings County Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. The Doctor has been practicing medicine in Stamford, CT, since 1988. With the help of his wife, he opened a solo-practice in 1991 and began what is now known as Coastal Obstetrics and Gynecology. Since the early days of being on call twenty-four-seven, three-sixty-five, Dr. Gennaro has been joined by three extremely wonderful and talented physician partners. The doctors are supported by an enthusiastic and dedicated office staff, some of whom have been with Dr. Gennaro since he opened his office in 1991.
